BAI - Competitive Intelligence Senior Manager, Rare Disease

Amgen seeks a senior manager to lead competitive intelligence efforts for its Rare Disease Business Unit. This role synthesizes market and competitive data from multiple sources to deliver strategic insights to cross-functional stakeholders, manages external vendor relationships, and coordinates intelligence gathering at major medical conferences. The position requires balancing competing priorities while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead competitive intelligence analysis across multiple rare disease assets and business stakeholders
- Synthesize primary and secondary data into actionable strategic insights and recommendations
- Manage external vendors and internal intelligence networks for data collection
- Coordinate intelligence gathering and debriefing activities at major medical conferences
- Facilitate competitive simulations and strategic workshops for cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Doctorate with 2 years analytics/consulting/CI experience, or equivalent education/experience combination
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MBA) in life sciences or business preferred
- Life science consulting experience in rare disease
- Strategic thinking and data analysis skills for critical business decisions
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
- Project management skills handling multiple simultaneous projects and data sources
- Collaborative team environment work experience
