Security Officer - Unarmed- Ochsner West Bank

Responsibilities Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on property. Conducts routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations. Investigates accidents and incidents, reporting all occurrences promptly. Performs opening/lockdown procedures for all buildings as approved. Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills. Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements. Operates and manages the visitor management system. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication style. Assumes additional duties as required. Remains knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance. This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster. Education High School diploma or equivalent. Work Experience None required. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days from hire) Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days from hire) International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval. Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard use. Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly and professionally to all levels. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to continuously walk the company property, including outside areas and stairwells in an 11‑floor structure. Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability). Physical and Environmental Demands Medium physical work, requiring occasional exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force, frequent exertion of 10 to 25 pounds, and light to moderate activities. Continuous walking and standing are required. Exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications in a healthcare setting may occur, requiring adherence to isolation protocols.
