Registered Nurse In Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care, including CVICU License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience Advanced skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT Description: Unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1 for certain device patients. Free floating charge nurse is available to assist staff. Unit secretary and administrative care tech available Monday through Friday during operating hours. Student Nurse Externs assist nurses by performing tech duties on variable shifts. Equipped with Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation is managed through a recognized system. Scheduling requires working 2 weekends per month and 3 holidays during the summer and winter seasons. Employees float as needed, typically to other intensive care units, but may include other floors. The unit specializes in providing care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those on ECMO and devices. Procedures performed include central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations. Team of nurses is focused on excellent teamwork. The unit has received recognition for outstanding performance and achievement in the field.
