Occupational Therapist (OT) PRN

Schedule Weekday, Weekends, or PRN‑As Needed Overview Occupational Therapists at Harris Regional Hospital provide therapeutic interventions for adult and geriatric patients within a full‑suite acute care environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal functional outcomes. Responsibilities Assume responsibility for patients supervised by OT Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and OT students, including staff orientation and supervisory duties in the absence of the qualified individual. Assess patient needs, identify and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions, and maintain standards for professional practice in collaboration with the care team. Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness, goal attainment, and recommend physician adjustments when necessary. Perform initial assessments and periodic reassessments, complete QI scoring, and document interventions per policy. Assess pain impact on functional participation, intervene to reduce pain, and coordinate physician contact for medical considerations. Deliver all patient care within a safety‑focused environment to minimize medical errors. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisory staff. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment. Physical capability to assist in moving and lifting patients, push/pull heavy objects, remain on feet for extended periods, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder height; patients range from approximately 80 to 400 pounds and may vary in functional independence.
