Specimen Processor Histology
Joining our team comes with several benefits, including: Competitive hourly rate + $1 per hour incentive pay, Free parking, Tuition reimbursement. A Brief Overview Assists the anatomic pathology lab by performing pre-analytic, post-analytic, and support functions.
What You Will Do:
- Accessions specimens for cytology and/or surgical pathology.
- Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.
- Triages specimens within the department.
- Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.
- Recognition and preliminary resolution of problem cases.
- Performs miscellaneous maintenance tasks within the department.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Associate's Degree (Preferred) Work Experience: Previous Medical Laboratory experience or strong science background (Preferred) Physical Demands: Standing Frequently, Walking Frequently, Sitting Rarely, Lifting Frequently up to 50 lbs, Carrying Frequently up to 50 lbs, Pushing Frequently up to 50 lbs, Pulling Frequently up to 50 lbs, Climbing Occasionally up to 50 lbs, Balancing Occasionally, Stooping Frequently, Kneeling Frequently, Crouching Frequently, Crawling Occasionally, Reaching Frequently, Handling Frequently, Grasping Frequently, Feeling Constantly, Talking Constantly, Hearing Constantly, Repetitive Motions Constantly, Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination Constantly Travel Requirements: 10%
