The YMCA of the Roses is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to provide high-quality swim lessons in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.As a Swim Instructor, you'll play an important role in helping participants of all ages develop swimming skills, achieve personal goals, and build confidence in and around the water. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, following lesson plans provided for each class level.Develops and maintains positive relationships with program participants and parents/caregivers while supporting them in achieving their goals.Relays information regarding participants' progress as well as other programs to parents/caregivers, when appropriate, while maintaining a friendly and warm atmosphere.Maintains records as required (e.g., attendance, parent handbooks, certificates).Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings when requested. High School Diploma3 years teaching swim lessons experience OR completion of YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSLI) Training. Swim Instructor IIIMust have or obtain CPR Pro and First Aid certification Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance. High School DiplomaMeet all requirements for Level II5 years of experience teaching swim lessons3 years of experience supervising a staff teamWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
