**Job Description Summary:**The Department of Physics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, seeks applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are interested in individuals with research expertise in theoretical astroparticle physics and cosmology. Appointment will begin August 10, 2027. William & Mary values close integration of teaching and research. As an R1 university, its research spans a wide variety of areas and involves more than 20 research centers and institutes. Part of the School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics, the Physics department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. programs, has 26 full-time faculty members, more than 50 Ph.D. graduate students, and graduates approximately 40 physics major per year. More information about the department can be found at W&M-Physics.**Job Description:****Required Qualifications:*** A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field at the time appointment begins (August 10,2027). **Preferred Qualifications:*** Postdoctoral research experience.* Strong research record in theoretical or computational astroparticle physics or cosmology.* Ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate level and to mentor researchstudents.* Experience in the application of artificial Intelligence, machine learning and other datascience techniques to research.* Commitment to advance academic excellence and the success of all learners and scholarsin physics. Duties include research, teaching, and service to the university. The applicant is expected toestablish and maintain a vibrant, high-quality, externally funded research program that inspires ahighly motivated graduate and undergraduate student body. Teaching expectation is one course per semester.
