Weekend Nurse

May be eligible for sign on bonus up to $3,750

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, variable 8 hour shift- WEEKEND ONLY

This position is responsible for assessing client health needs, nursing care requirement and the delivery of nursing care on all assigned clients.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(25%) Assesses client health needs, nursing care requirements, and delivery of nursing care on all assigned clients. Directs client assessments by other nursing staff.

(25%) Plans care for assigned clients and direct the planning of care by other nursing staff.

(25%) Evaluates effectiveness of plan of care; ensures responsible care is rendered to clients.

(25%) Implements nursing actions in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and demonstrates competence in nursing care of the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric client.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Self Management:

Holds self accountable for delivery of responsible care, demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships.

Assumes responsibility for own continued professional development and assists with the development of other staff members.

Certifications and Licensures

Credential: RN: Registered Nurse Equivalent Experience

Credential: FINGERPRIN: Fingerprinting Equivalent Experience

Credential: DRIVERSLIC: Drivers License Equivalent Experience

Credential: VEH INS: Vehicle Insurance Equivalent Experience

Credential: BLS: Basic Life Support Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer

Qualification Source: AHA

Credential: TEAM ADVANCED: Techniques for Effective Aggression Mgt Equivalent Experience: Within 6 months of hire or transfer (Employees who are in this position on or before 12/31/2023 will have 24 months to complete this certification)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:

• A minimum of one year medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Operates equipment as outlined on orientation checklists, policy and procedures. Participates in equipment in-services and competencies as they relate to role expectations.
• Performs job skills outlined on orientation checklist as they relate to role expectations.
• Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement as required by the Health System and the job description.
• Understands and is accountable for the Health System's customer service standards.

Psychiatric Nurse:

Minimum of one year experience in inpatient, outpatient or community psychiatric nursing.

ANCC Psychiatric Nurse certification preferred.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).

Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.

Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
