Pharmacist Contract Opportunity
Pharmacists are needed to support warehouse operations at a healthcare facility in Des Plaines, IL. This contract opportunity lasts 6 months and offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty items
- Manage inventory levels, place orders, and minimize waste or expired products
- Ensure compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations regarding proper storage conditions
- Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment
- Supervise pharmacy technicians engaged in inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping
- Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to secure necessary medications for patient orders
- Review controlled substance inventories and maintain accurate documentation
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits
- Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to facilitate timely medication delivery
- Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems for tracking
Qualifications:
- Current and active Illinois Pharmacist license
- Basic knowledge of IV medication preparation and handling
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians effectively
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to pharmacy operations
Schedule:
- Monday Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
