Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (PRN) at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, you will assist with patient-centered occupational therapy services, coordinate treatment plans, document patient progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Accurately follow the established treatment plan to set measurable and achievable goals for maximum functional independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). Accurately record and document patient care and changes in condition. Record, monitor, and review clinical data; provide feedback to the Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to the treatment plan and goals based on patient performance. Adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities within the scope of practice and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist. Collaborate with patient service departments and community agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs, monitor responses, and adjust programs as needed. Support hospital initiatives to meet core measures, patient safety, and service excellence goals. Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and patient experience. Contribute to a culture of patient-centered care and maintain a quiet healing environment. Communicate with patients, families, and team members in a caring, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner. Provide clear explanations of care to patients and families, ensuring they are informed of patient status as appropriate. Maintain proactive and effective communication with physicians regarding patient observations, treatment responses, and changes in condition. Use the interdisciplinary team approach to patient care; collaborate, confer, and update team members regarding patient progress, treatment, and discharge planning. Qualifications Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Associate Degree Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS instructor certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
