Job Requirements

• Active West Virginia medical license or IMLC eligibility required
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery preferred
• At least 1 year of relevant general surgery experience required
• Current certifications required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
• Comfortable managing adult inpatient surgical and trauma cases
• Experience with hospital-based call coverage strongly preferred
• Ability to round on the provider's own patients
• Fellowship training not required

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery and trauma call coverage during assigned dates
• Evaluate, manage, and follow adult inpatient surgical patients
• Perform rounding on your own patients as needed
• Collaborate with hospital, OR, and ER teams to coordinate patient care
• Respond to consults and surgical needs in a timely manner
• Utilize Meditec for documentation and charting
• Work within a Level III trauma environment with varied admissions and patient volume
• Deliver high-quality surgical care while supporting efficient hospital operations
