Collections Clerk

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage business-to-business (B2B) collections for a portfolio of approximately 300+ accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding balances.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and other business partners to facilitate timely payments.
- Conduct outbound collection calls daily, along with consistent email correspondence, to follow up on past-due accounts and resolve payment issues.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, including missing invoices, payment delays, and other account-related issues.
- Identify and communicate with appropriate contacts within client organizations to obtain payment updates, address outstanding balances, and expedite collections.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to review accounts receivable aging reports, monitor overdue balances, prioritize collection activities, and track account statuses.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection efforts, customer communications, payment commitments, and follow-up activities.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections, with demonstrated success managing outstanding accounts and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently research account discrepancies, locate missing information, and identify solutions.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including data filtering, sorting, formulas, maintaining account notes, and tracking collection activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, ask effective questions, and professionally navigate collection conversations.
