Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Travel RN for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Mission Hospital. The ideal candidate provides specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients and supports the hospitals commitment to excellence and safety.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric patients in the PICU setting.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting hemodynamic data and ventilator status.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, perform IV starts, and manage procedures such as central lines and ICP monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately in Cerner electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to hospital policies, unit guidelines, and safety protocols, including float policies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina or eligibility for licensure.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to perform advanced pediatric procedures and manage critical care equipment.
  
  
• 
  Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
  
  
• 
  Flexibility to work 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM shifts, including 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule.
