Butte College is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Controller to join our Fiscal Services team. This is a new position and will report to the Director of Fiscal Services. The Controller will provide comprehensive leadership and technical expertise across all accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong fiscal expertise and a continuous improvement mindset. This position will play a key role in driving efficiency, ensuring strong internal controls, and establishing timely, accurate financial information.
Work Schedule
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Fridays off. As an exempt position, hours may vary based on departmental needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience

- Bachelor's degree* in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration; AND
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible financial and accounting experience including detailed financial reporting; AND
- One (1) year of management and/or supervisory level experience directly related to the responsibilities in this class; AND
- Direct experience coordinating and preparing Annual Financial Audit Reports and implementing new accounting standards; OR
- Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
