Job Description

Part-time, 5 days a week, 4 hours a day- 10AM-2PM

About Us
A licensed residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program in Southern California. We provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients begin their recovery journey. Nutrition is a key part of healing, and we're looking for a dependable cook who takes pride in preparing healthy, home-style meals for our clients.

What You'll Do

Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals for residential clients according to the weekly menu
Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical or religious dietary needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen that meets health and licensing standards
Properly store, label, and rotate food; track inventory and assist with grocery ordering
Follow food safety guidelines, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules
Interact respectfully with clients and staff, maintaining confidentiality at all times
Support a recovery-friendly, respectful environment

Requirements

At least 1 year of cooking experience (institutional, residential, or restaurant preferred)
Valid California Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain ); ServSafe certification a plus
Ability to prepare meals in a timely manner for groups
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs
Must pass a background check and health screening (TB test)
Respect for client confidentiality and a nonjudgmental attitude toward individuals in recovery

Preferred

Experience cooking in a treatment, healthcare, group home, or residential setting
Knowledge of basic nutrition and healthy meal planning
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
