Physical Therapist - Per Diem (Outpatient Rehab)

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: Per Diem PT: Outpatient Rehab Position Purpose Physical Therapist (Outpatient Rehab) – Develop individualized plans of care for patients, outlining their goals and the expected outcomes of the plans. Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands‑on therapy, and equipment to ease patients’ pain, help them increase mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness. What You Will Do Outpatient hospital‑based clinic specialized in neurologic, vestibular, oncology, lymphedema, geriatric, gait and balance, post‑operative/spinal pathologies and complex cases. Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury. Be familiar with government regulations for PT practice in an outpatient setting and demonstrate an understanding of how these rules pertain to managing patient care, specifically for the OP Therapy Cap and Claims‑Based Outcomes Reporting (i.e. G codes). Show flexibility in working at several clinical locations, including hospital‑based settings and satellite clinics in the community. Tasks Include Administer manual exercises, massage, and/or traction to help relieve pain, increase the patient’s strength, and decrease or prevent deformity and crippling. Discharge patient from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow‑up care or referrals. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation. Inform the patient when diagnosis reveals findings outside their scope and refer to an appropriate practitioner. Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or enter information into computer. Review physician’s referral and patient’s medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment. Education Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy is required. Experience & Skills New graduates and experienced PTs welcome. Licensure/Certification Must be a Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Florida and hold BLS from the American Heart Association. Skills/ Certifications Preferred Neurologic rehab experience, NCS certification, or neurologic residency. GCS/Geriatric Certification. Vestibular experience and/or certification.
