Associate CounselNew York CityAssociate Counsel / Full Time / NY(Comp: $200,000 + $50,000 bonus)Position: Financial Technology Partners is seeking an Associate Counsel to join our small, high-leverage legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Associate will touch nearly every part of the FT Partners legal platform--engagement letters for FinTech clients, employment matters, vendor and SaaS contracts, corporate policies, and the playbooks and AI tooling that scale our practice. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in commercial contracts at a top law firm, and have a desire to broaden their legal skill set to become a well-rounded in-house lawyer at a boutique investment bankEssential Functions:Partner with the General Counsel across the full range of legal matters affecting FT Partners' business and operationsDraft, review, negotiate, and revise investment banking engagement letters and related investment agreementsDraft, review, and revise employment agreements, offer letters, and related templatesReview and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, SaaS and software licensing agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, and other vendor contractsBuild and maintain contract playbooks(standard positions, approved fallbacks, alternative clause libraries) and integrate them into the firm's legal AI workflowsImprove the firm's standard agreement templates and corporate policies and proceduresAssist with managing paralegals and legal internsBasic Qualifications:2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a major national law firmExceptional drafting, analytical, and editing skillsDemonstrated fluency with legal AI tools and a track record of integrating AI into document work flowsAdmitted to the bar in good standingA strong work ethic and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environmentU.S. work authorization required.
