Our team of skilled Machinists play a crucial role in accelerating engineering innovation by producing high-precision robot parts, surgical components, executing small batch runs for the Brain Interfaces team, and providing design and fabrication support for Animal Care teams. As a small, collaborative group, we operate with a sense of urgency and prioritize maintaining an excellent work culture.Job Description and Responsibilities:As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in the end-to-end manufacturing process, from programming and setting up CNC machines to ensuring the quality of finished parts through meticulous inspection. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, solve complex machining challenges, and directly impact the company's mission. Moreover, you will be expected to:Create and modify programs for various machining tasks, troubleshoot and resolve programming or operational issues, and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and minimize wasteSet up CNC machines (e.g., Lathes, Mills, etc.), load raw materials, ensure proper setup and programming, and perform full end-to-end manufacturing processesMeasure and inspect finished parts using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines), comparing them to blueprints and engineering specifications to maintain high levels of precision and quality throughout productionPerform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance, identify and address potential issues before they cause machine downtime, and maintain a clean and organized workspaceManage parts in your queue, including material purchasing and proper tooling selectionRequired Qualifications:2 years of relevant machine shop experienceExperience with at least one CAM software and one CNC controlAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsMachine operator experienceAdditional Requirements and Competencies:Ability to lift and transfer up to 25 poundsAbility to spend long periods standing and walkingExpected Compensation:At Neuralink, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is expected to be within the below range.
