- The Nutritionist develops, coordinates, and implements quality nutrition consultation services and MNT with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management.
- Provide individuals, families, groups, and institutions with expert guidance on diets, menus, meal plans, weight management, and chronic disease prevention and management.
- The Nutritionist conducts nutritional and physical activity assessments.
- Counsel patients and families on nutrition principles, MNT plans, and food selection.
- Provide written exercise and nutrition goals for patients.
- Review laboratory values, medications, and other data to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- The Nutritionist promotes a whole health approach through effective communication with primary care providers.
Nutritionist - REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN).
- Minimum two years of experience in diabetes education for all ages.
- Hold a current and unrestricted license to practice as an RD or RDN in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
