Intern - Development - Biostatistics Oncology

Gilead Sciences seeks a biostatistics intern to contribute to oncology drug development projects. The role involves applying advanced statistical methods, developing analytical models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on clinical trial methodologies during a 10-12 week summer internship.

Responsibilities

• Apply Bayesian statistics, survival analysis, and causal inference methods to drug development research questions
• Develop and evaluate hierarchical models, treatment effect estimation, and clinical trial methodologies
• Design and execute simulation studies and reproducible statistical analyses using statistical software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate statistical findings into actionable recommendations
• Document analytical processes and present research outcomes through reports and final presentation

Requirements

• Enrolled full-time in Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, JD, or PhD program at accredited U.S. university
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 at application and hire
• Independently authorized to work in United States without sponsorship
• Able to commit to 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August
• Willing to work on-site in Foster City; hybrid arrangement required
• Proficiency with statistical computing tools such as R, Stan, JAGS, or PyMC
• PhD in biostatistics or related field preferred

Compensation: $20.00-$55.00 hourly; paid holidays, sick time, and housing stipends available
