Experienced Medical Assistant – Spine Surgery Practice

Location: Northern Virginia (Sterling / Annandale)
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our busy surgical practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and administrative skills, thrive in a high-volume environment, and provide compassionate, efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories
Assist providers during examinations and procedures
Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
Coordinate with providers, front desk, and billing team for seamless patient flow
Manage patient follow-up, referrals, and documentation
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years experience as a Medical Assistant (required)
Experience in orthopedics, spine, or surgical practice (strongly preferred)
Knowledge of EMR systems (Modmed preferred)
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care standards
Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
