Job Description

Virginia Pediatric Group, a premier provider of family-centered pediatric care since 1982, is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our professional team. Based in our Fairfax office, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced specialist with a passion for accuracy and patient support to contribute to a practice that has served Northern Virginia for over 40 years.

Duties

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in a clinic setting.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories .
Maintain accurate patient records , including coding for billing purposes.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
Provide education to patients regarding their treatment plans and medication administration.
Collaborate with Medical staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Support dermatology procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
Familiarity with coding practices related to outpatient services is beneficial.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification as a Medical Assistant is required/preferred.

Must be able to reliably commute between each of our facilities, when needed (Fairfax/ Herndon/ Aldie/ Great Falls).
