Dental Supervisor

Sea Mar Community Health Centers (FQHC) seeks a full‑time Dental Supervisor for the Lakewood Dental Clinic. The hourly rate ranges from $26.62 to $28.37 depending on experience. Duties and Responsibilities Organize and coordinate patient scheduling to maintain an efficient and productive patient flow. Triage patients, coordinate dental appointments, and manage the daily activities that pertain to patient flow. Communicate accurately with patients. Maintain knowledge of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations. Oversee the sterilization room to process instruments through the proper sterilization process. Supervise dental assistants, dental receptionists, and guide dental providers. Provide verbal counseling and, when necessary, administer disciplinary actions. Participate in training new employees and dental trainees. Understand dental insurance programs and procedure codes to correct encounter forms and answer cost questions. Operate the MIS system or other computer systems used at Sea Mar Community Health Centers. Complete quality improvement assignments (chart audits, patient surveys, health and safety activities) as outlined in the QI Department Calendar and maintain provider production at goal expectations, including daily reports. Build community relationships to support the dental clinic (e.g., Head Start, ECAP programs) and communicate issues clearly and effectively with the Regional Coordinator and Dental Director. Education and Qualifications Current Washington State Dental Assistant registration required. Completed basic courses in dental assisting and office management at an academic institution, such as a technical institute, or equivalent. Minimum of three years working experience in a dental office may be considered in lieu of formal education. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain certification within one month of employment. Effective communication, reading, and writing skills in English and ability to interpret dental terminology. Experience with EPIC electronic health record desirable. High school diploma or equivalent. Dental and supervisory experience preferred. Bilingual Requirement Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
