Position Title Foster Parent Recruiter Location 195 Montague Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 Schedule 35 hours per week, Hybrid (Full Time, Non‑Exempt) Principal Objective / Role Overview Recruit, screen, train, and retain foster families to ensure adequate resources for children in the Enhanced Family Foster Care program. Job Responsibilities Respond to and process inquiry forms for prospective applicants. Conduct vigorous recruitment efforts for foster parents. Interview prospective foster parents using SBC practice; review applications; track and update their ability to foster special populations and any associated concerns. Secure required documents, conduct SCR and fingerprinting for foster parents and relevant family members (per NYC Children’s Services and OCFS requirements). Maintain and update foster parent soft files, pipeline tracking spreadsheets, and CONNECTIONS records; complete related reports and input data promptly. Prepare and submit reports, calendars, and other deliverables to agency supervisor, NYC Children’s Services, and/or OCFS. Facilitate monthly precertification (Orientation, MAPP) and in‑service training (Recertification) per the curriculum. Ensure scheduling, monitoring, and tracking of orientation for foster parents. Assist the Intake Department in matching foster parents to children based on service needs and parent skills. Participate in weekly supervision sessions to discuss status and progress of foster homes, certifications, and any emerging issues. Attend staff meetings, seminars, and training; stay current with internal and external regulations and policies. Serve as a conduit between foster parents and agency resources for support and referrals; coordinate assignments with the Homefinder. Travel within the NYC area as required to visit prospective and active foster homes. Model dependable, responsible, professional, and accountable behavior; promote program norms, teamwork, and mission integration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Services or related field. Experience in community organizing, home finding, foster care, or residential casework preferred. Bilingual Spanish and English required; advanced Spanish proficiency qualifies for a salary differential. Ability to travel within the NYC Metropolitan area. Excellent verbal and written communication, time‑management, and organizational skills. Computers literate; proficient with MS Office and NYS Connections. Ability to work with diverse populations. Flexible to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed. Valid NYS driver’s license is a plus. Salary & Compensation Base Salary or Hourly Rate: $30.73/hour ($55,936$ per year) – Non‑Exempt, FLSA status.
