Packaging Operator

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL – Onsite
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr
Contract: Through 01/30/2027
Schedule: Rotating Shifts

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
• 40 hours/week
• Overtime as needed

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Operator to support chemical production and packaging operations in an onsite manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a chemical production environment , experience operating production and packaging equipment, and forklift experience.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work with flammable and other hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities:

• Safely package chemical products into totes, drums, and pails following established procedures.
• Repack and relabel chemical products accurately.
• Operate automated control systems and perform manual operations to run process and packaging equipment.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment issues.
• Perform light equipment maintenance or prepare equipment for maintenance personnel.
• Complete batch documentation and declare production in SAP.
• Perform daily housekeeping, equipment rounds, and maintain an organized work area.
• Respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures when handling chemical products and operating equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in a chemical production environment required.
• Experience working with flammable and/or hazardous chemicals.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, and scrapers.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to connect hoses and operate manual valves.
• Ability to wear FRC uniforms and a full-face respirator; clean-shaven requirement applies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Self-starter with a positive, flexible, and safety-focused attitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and work independently.
