Job Description

This Technician role focuses on maintaining and repairing plant and building equipment in a construction-style industrial environment. You will perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance on automated equipment, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime. This is a union position that offers a guaranteed 40-hour work week with a standard Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule unless otherwise specified.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical control on all plant and building equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Perform maintenance and repair on automated industrial equipment, including conveyors, pumps, screens, and motors.
• Check and adjust levels and alignment on all machine tools to maintain optimal performance and accuracy.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs, including work on high-voltage controls, relays, sensors, and electronic test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, and air systems.
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work using MIG, stick, and torch equipment as needed for repairs and modifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and OEM documentation to plan and execute maintenance and repair tasks.
• Support construction, service, installation, and fabrication activities related to heavy equipment and plant systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend the life of machinery.
• Complete any unassigned jobs or additional tasks required to support plant operations.
• Perform any other job duties as assigned to ensure continuous and efficient plant operation.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in automated industrial equipment maintenance and repair.
• Successful completion of an industrial maintenance and PLC training course.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, screens, and motors.
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and repair, including high-voltage controls, relays, sensors, and use of electronic test equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics for diagnosing and repairing cylinders, valves, and air systems.
• Ability to perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work, including MIG, stick, and torch processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and OEM documentation accurately.
• Experience with construction, service, installation, and fabrication work related to heavy equipment.
• Demonstrated preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting skills in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a construction-style environment with exposure to outdoor conditions and cement products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in automated industrial equipment maintenance and repair is preferred.
• Experience working with heavy equipment in industrial or construction environments.
• Experience in installation and service of plant equipment and systems.
• Comfort working in environments where equipment and structures may be partially enclosed or open to the elements.

Work Environment

The work environment is a construction-style industrial setting where most tasks take place outdoors or in buildings with open walls and no doors. You will regularly work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, high winds, and rain, and must be comfortable with exposure to these elements. The primary product handled is cement, so you should expect a dirty, dusty environment and be comfortable working around heavy equipment and industrial machinery. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a guaranteed 40-hour work week as part of a unionized operation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fillmore, CA.

The pay range for this position is $64459.00 - $64459.00/yr.
