We are looking for a high‑energy, ambitious candidate to join our growing residential rental operations. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy equipment, including diesel engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, and electrical systems. Conduct inspections and general preventive maintenance on heavy and light construction rental equipment. Use a company‑provided truck equipped with lube extraction and retraction necessities. Promote positive customer service for Louisiana Cat Rental Stores in accordance with Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectations. Apply a safety‑first mentality in every hour of work. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle history. Prior technical training with heavy machinery/equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work in a team environment. Must own required tool inventory (Louisiana Cat provides a Tooling Program during interview). Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor. Job Facts Shift schedule: Monday–Friday, full time hours; may require work outside the standard schedule. Work environment: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing, and work with mechanical rotating parts in Louisiana climate. Physical Demands Must stand, use hands, and have full arm range of motion. Must lift up to 75 pounds from floor to chest occasionally. Must endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting during mechanical operations. Must pull or push with arms to use wrenches and tools. Must climb onto and operate equipment. Must operate and maintain a field service vehicle with GVW Work Environment Regularly works around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes (heat, cold, humidity). Noise level can be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high‑pressure water, and high‑speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Work may involve cramped spaces or high places. Employee will be required to be clean shaven when entering certain facilities and may need to travel overnight in some cases.
