Sr. Data Engineer

Position Summary Senior Data Engineer – CVS Pharmacy, Inc. (a CVS Health company) located in Woonsocket, RI. Responsible for developing, building, and managing large‑scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient ETL workflows to address complex problems and support business applications. Responsibilities Design and develop large‑scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for insights and reporting. Write ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and design database systems to support both real‑time and offline analytics. Collaborate with the Data Science team to transform data, integrate algorithms, and embed models into automated processes. Test, maintain, and troubleshoot data systems and pipelines. Apply Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization techniques to build data pipelines. Use Python, Java, or similar languages to create robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and models that serve Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from diverse sources while ensuring quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities, recommending solutions to complex business problems. Experiment with available tools and advise on new technologies to meet model/use‑case requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience. Five (5) years’ experience in each of the following: Oracle, Teradata, or DB2; Hadoop and HDFS; Snowflake; SQL; Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP); AWS products: EC2, VPC, or EBS; JIRA, Rally, or Confluence; Data warehousing concepts; Big Data and data lakes; Software development life cycle (SDLC). Telecommuting Telecommuting options available. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $179,296.00 to $203,940.00 per year, based on experience, education, and geographic location.
