Civil Structural Field Engineer

job summary:
A Civil Structural Field Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization. The Field Engineer will oversee architectural, civil, and structural installations, commissioning, and field operations for major industrial facility projects. This role serves as the subject matter expert on-site, coordinating contractors, vendors, and plant operations to ensure successful project delivery.

Candidates must hold a 3+ of experience. Deep knowledge of prevailing building codes, OSHA safety protocols, and industrial or automotive manufacturing environments is required. Effective communication skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project) are required, with Bluebeam or AutoCAD experience preferred. This is a long-term contract opportunity and out client is only seeking local talent currently.

responsibilities:

• Facilitate civil, structural, and architectural equipment installations, commissioning activities, and facility handovers

• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, engineering specifications, and RFIs for technical accuracy

• Conduct daily field inspections to ensure strict compliance with building codes, project specifications, and quality standards

• Coordinate contractor schedules, plant shutdown work, equipment deliveries, and planned utility outages

• Enforce site safety procedures, OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout rules, and hazardous energy controls

• Prepare field engineering progress reports, tracking schedule milestones and delivery targets for project managers
