AS/400 Impact Consultant (CONTRACT) Hybrid - Flexible Options

Broadridge is hiring an AS/400 Impact Consultant to join our team in Newark, NJ, working in a hybrid model. Work Mode Hybrid: 2 days a week at the Newark office, with flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days. Responsibilities Review and analyze Technical Design Documents, using the review process to train and share product domain knowledge with less experienced team members. Conduct an in-depth analysis of Service Requests raised by internal/external clients to determine the appropriate course of action. Assist Client Services/Conversions/Help Desk in meeting client needs by providing review of information relating to impact processing. Troubleshoot real‑time test/production issues to ensure a smooth operation of the impact application within the prescribed productivity time frame. Document new or changed operational procedures associated with development/maintenance projects. Support the testing of enhancements and fixes, and assist functional testing groups who ensure that programs function correctly and enhancements meet specifications. Recommend solutions and identify required program corrections that resolve issues affecting clients’ day‑to‑day business. Ensure static data/configuration/setups are accurate in all client regions to minimize functional service requests. Participate in peer review processes to maintain quality of issues turned over to application development or systems support groups within prescribed standards. Diagnose and remediate, where authorized, all production and test service requests assigned to the group. Attend morning batch issues meetings to review all impact end‑of‑day issues from the prior night. Attend internal and external project status meetings to represent all impact issues and provide status on unresolved remedies to management and clients (upon request). Contribute toward enterprise‑wide metrics collection and action plans. Develop and document workarounds for functional issues in test or production environments. Assist the operations support group and service bureau personnel in resolving and executing daily operational tasks. Execute critical operational tasks and business conversions from a technical support perspective. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a software developer on Broadridge Impact Product. AS400 experience required. 7–10 years of experience in iSeries related technologies. Proficiency in IBM iSeries technologies – RPG/400, DB2/400, CL/400 Programming, ILE Concepts – CLLE, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, SQL, ROBOT, SDA, ALDON, NDM/FTP/SFTP, MQ. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Proficient with MS Office. Preferably Experience with Impact – US Fixed Income Product. Highly recommended: knowledge of bond pricing and trading, securitized assets, mortgage‑backed securities, and money market instruments. Experience with Fixed Income back‑office operations or clearance operations. Compensation Hourly range: $70–80 per hour.
