Business Operations Specialist Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is the university‑level research center responsible for advancing school safety initiatives across Texas. The Business Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the financial and operational activities that enable TxSSC’s mission, including managing contracts, travel, procurement, and providing technical support to staff and stakeholders. Responsibilities Efficiently manage electronic database records. Facilitate timely and accurate processing of payments, reimbursement requests, deposits, and credit card payments. Monitor contracts for compliance with performance metrics, including invoicing, amendments, renewals, and close‑out procedures. Prepare and process documents such as vendor forms, purchase orders, invoices, reimbursement forms, correspondence, and reports based on oral and written instructions. Facilitate travel requests, coordinate arrangements, and process travel reimbursements. Interpret and apply relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance. Provide technical assistance and service to TxSSC staff and external stakeholders. Maintain high attention to detail and organization across projects. Proactively solve problems while demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Proficient in crafting clear, concise, and grammatically correct professional correspondence. Excellent customer service skills. Experience handling multiple projects concurrently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, exercising sound judgement and initiative. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Basic Texas Purchaser Course certificate. Proven experience working with electronic databases. Proficiency in invoice processing, reimbursement requests, deposits, and credit card payments, ensuring accuracy of financial records. Experience coordinating travel accommodations. Prior experience in contract management. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Concur, Microsoft Teams, or SAP. Possession of a bachelor’s degree.
