Step into a meaningful role supporting students and staff as a Registered Nurse within a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate closely with the Certified School Nurse, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and faculty during a vital maternity leave coverage. The assignment runs from October 26, 2026, through January 22, 2027, with the possibility of an extension. Enjoy consistent full-time hours from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, working onsite and directly impacting the school community. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering direct nursing services, first aid, emergency care, and illness assessment in line with professional standards and school policies. Administering medication to students and staff, keeping precise documentation, and ensuring medications remain secure at all times. Supporting the Certified School Nurse with health and wellness programs and special projectsincluding managing allergy, asthma, or seizure action plans. Assisting in maintaining the health office and providing general support to maximize efficiency within the department. Monitoring and reporting on building AEDs to keep emergency equipment functional and ready for use. Maintaining accurate medical records, immunizations, physical exams, and ensuring compliance with state mandates and archival requirements. Acting as a mandated reporter by assessing and making referrals for suspected abuse or neglect. Ideal candidates will possess: A current Illinois Registered Nurse license. Documented experience working in a school setting as an RN. LPN credentials are not accepted for this position.
