Get to Know Your Team:

• UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of clinical excellence through evidence-based practice.
• Works closely with the OR Manager to help on-board new staff
• Tracks expiration of licenses and certifications, openly communicates with staff to keep them active
• Runs the Periop 101 residency program
• Plans department in-services
• Assists new residents, medical students, external FAs, PAs or NPs with orientation of the operating room.
• Over sees the nurse extern and scrub tech extern program
• Plans the annual skills fair for OR circulators and scrub technicians
• Remains current with professional practice standards.
• Performs chart reviews to identify areas of training opportunities.
• Assigns appropriate education to staff and monitor for completion via Health stream
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• EMR experience

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 5 years' surgical experience
• Epic experience
• CNOR
