Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role License: Valid state or compact nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Travel experience - Proficient in charting with Epic Description: Registered Nurse needed for the Intermediate Care Unit. The position requires providing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions. The nurse will be responsible for a patient ratio of 1:4. Experience with accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry is essential. Candidates should be skilled in care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, and chest tube management. Additional skills required include interpretation of arterial blood gases, management of cardiac drips, and care for patients with cerebrovascular accidents. The role involves adhering to isolation precautions and administering oxygen. Nurses will manage IV insulin protocols and PCA, as well as care for patients recovering from total joint replacement and spinal cord injuries. A willingness to float between units as needed and work weekends is required. The position supports interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should be prepared to complete training modules non-billable during orientation.
