About the Opportunity We are recruiting a Head of Product for a rapidly growing Series A healthcare marketplace in New York City. This will be the company's first dedicated product leadership hire , working directly with the founders and engineering team to take ownership of product and help build the product organization over time. The company operates a complex, multi-sided marketplace serving providers, consumers, and internal teams. They have raised more than $14M and are experiencing strong month-over-month growth. This is a hands-on opportunity with significant ownership and influence over how the product organization develops. What You'll Do Own the product roadmap and sprint planning Work directly with engineering and the founders Build across B2B, B2C, and internal product surfaces Prototype using AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor Translate business needs into clear product requirements Improve existing product flows and user experience Help establish product processes and operating structure Set the pace and culture for the product organization Hire Product Managers and designers as the company grows This Is a Hands-On Role Despite the Head of Product title, this is not initially a traditional management role. The company needs someone who is comfortable operating as an individual contributor and personally driving product work. You should be comfortable working directly with engineers, writing requirements, prototyping ideas, reviewing product experiences, making product decisions, and taking products from idea through launch. Over time, you will have the opportunity to build and lead the product team. The Environment This is a scrappy, fast-moving startup environment where not every process has already been created. You should be comfortable working with ambiguity, changing priorities, and multiple stakeholder groups. The ideal candidate enjoys creating structure, moving quickly, taking ownership, and working closely with founders and engineers. What We're Looking For 3-8 years of Product Management experience Experience working at startups or growth-stage companies Marketplace or multi-sided platform experience Experience with both B2B and B2C products Strong product and design judgment Comfortable prototyping with AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code Strong written and verbal communication Ability to thrive in ambiguity and move quickly Experience working directly with engineering teams Marketplace Experience Marketplace experience is one of the most important requirements for this role. The ideal candidate has built products for a marketplace, network-effect business, or multi-sided platform involving different stakeholder groups. Healthcare experience is valuable, but candidates from other marketplace businesses may also be a strong fit. B2B + B2C Experience The company serves both providers and consumers, so candidates should be comfortable thinking about both sides of the product. You should understand the needs of business users while also having strong consumer product and design instincts. AI Prototyping The company uses AI tools as part of its product development process. You should be comfortable using tools such as: Cursor AI/LLM tools Prototyping tools You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable using these tools to quickly turn ideas into prototypes and working concepts. You have previously been: An early Product Manager at a startup A Founding Product Manager A Senior Product Manager with significant ownership A product leader at an early-stage marketplace A startup PM ready to grow into product leadership The company is focused more on your actual ownership and execution experience than your current job title. This position may not be the right fit if: You only want to manage people You no longer want to do hands-on product work Your experience has primarily been in large corporate environments You prefer highly established processes You are uncomfortable with changing priorities or ambiguity You are looking for a remote position Location This is an on-site position in New York City, 5 days per week .
