Financial Systems Analyst

The Metropolitan School District of Mount Vernon is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Financial Systems Analyst to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting or finance and will be responsible for managing our financial systems, ensuring data accuracy, and providing critical support to the Director of Business. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the financial systems database to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial data.
• Serve as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring that all employee compensation is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor and track grants received by the public school system, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Conduct financial analysis, generate reports, and provide insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate closely with the CFO to support financial operations, budget management, and financial planning.
• Maintain the integrity and security of financial data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain documentation for financial procedures and policies. Submit Form 9 and other reports to the state.
• File 1099's, 1095's, W2's, 941's and UCI's.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, database management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of public school finance regulations (a plus).
