Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Responsibilities Provides direct patient care and support to multidisciplinary health team working within the scope of practice of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Serves as a clinical expert through patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consultation, while maintaining program excellence and professional growth. Responsible for developing comprehensive care plans, coordinating patient care, delivering ongoing treatment while fostering a strong patient‑provider relationship. Committed to cost‑effective care management, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing patient experiences through continuous process improvement. Provides direct patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based outcomes. Education PA must be a graduate of a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC‑PA) or graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing with Bachelors in nursing and Masters Degree in advanced practice nursing. Experience A minimum of one (1) year of physician’s assistant experience in a primary care or emergency care environment is preferred. Certification & Licensures BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association required Successful completion of a Board exam that is recognized by the Board of Medicine is required. Recertification, if required is necessary Active Virginia and/or West Virginia State License Active Virginia and/or West Virginia DEA Successful completion of an ACLS course if required within 120 days of the hire date Maintains and provides proof of CME requirements as put forth by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
