Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position located in Burlington, KY. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce parts to exact specifications, including reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tooling, performing precise measurements, adjusting machine settings, and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality standards and tolerances are met. The CNC Machinist will perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot basic equipment issues, and document production activities and inspection results. This role collaborates with supervisors and team members to optimize workflows, maintain a safe work area, and support continuous improvement in machining processes. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Machine Operation and CNC Machining, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with Milling and general Machining processes for metal and other materials. Strong Quality Control skills, including dimensional inspection, use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and adherence to tolerances. Ability to work safely with industrial Machinery, following established safety protocols and maintenance procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Attention to detail, reliable work habits, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role; trade school or vocational training in machining is beneficial. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and work in a production environment. Required Skills and Qualifications Proficiency in CNC machine operation (mills, lathes, multi-axis centers) and controls (common brands: Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma). Blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. Precision measurement and inspection techniques. Knowledge of tooling selection, materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, titanium), speeds/feeds, and machining processes. Basic to intermediate G-code editing; familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) is often preferred or required for higher-level roles. Shop math (geometry, trigonometry, algebra) for calculations and offsets. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Problem-solving and mechanical aptitude. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting materials/tools). Ability to follow procedures, work independently or in teams, and communicate effectively. Safety consciousness and continuous learning mindset. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED is typically required. Technical training, certificate, or associate degree in machining technology, machine tool technology, or related field preferred. Apprenticeship (e.g., NIMS-recognized) or 1-5+ years of hands-on CNC experience, depending on the role level (entry-level vs. experienced/setup machinist). Certifications such as NIMS Machining credentials are advantageous but not always mandatory. Work Environment and Other Notes CNC Machinists typically work in machine shops, manufacturing plants, or production facilities. The job involves standing, bending, lifting (often up to 50-70 lbs), exposure to noise, coolants, and metal chips, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards (e.g., AS9100 in aerospace). Shifts can include days, nights, or rotating schedules, with overtime common in production environments. Wages $42,000-70,000+ USD annually depending on experience and certifications. Note: In addition, over-time will be offered from time to time based on need to meet customer requirements. Bonus (Sign-on) Yearly bonus will be offered (based on profitability). After (3) months of employment, (1) week of vacation after 1st year and 2 weeks vacation after the 2nd year plus (2) sick days per year.
