Assistant General Manager – WoodSpring Suites, Newington, CT Hotel Management & Consulting is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our team. You will lead the operations in the absence of the General Manager and assist them with leading the team, ensuring that our service standards are consistently exceeded. Primary Duties Team Lead: Train and guide staff, discuss performance discrepancies, lead staff huddles, and provide hands‑on support to achieve outstanding results. Financial: Post checks in the PMS, complete weekly labor tracker, manage payment due reports, postpaid outs and receipts. Guest Relations: Keep the hotel “Guest Ready” by maintaining cleanliness, addressing concerns, collecting feedback, selling amenities, and ensuring property security. Housekeeping: Assign rooms to be cleaned and assist the GM in inspections. Inventory & Vendor Relations: Manage inventory, check property email, and build relationships with vendors and guests. Sales & Marketing: Network locally to promote the property, build relationships with competitors and key clients, and lead in‑house guest sales and marketing initiatives to boost occupancy. Teamwork: Assist with housekeeping tasks, daily laundry duties and public space needs; cover shifts as required to maintain operational continuity. Emergency Procedures: Follow property emergency procedures and ensure security for the property and guests. Other Duties as Assigned. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 1 year’s experience in hotel leadership, including front desk and back‑of‑house operations. Proficient computer skills. Strong team‑building skills. Excellent organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proactive problem‑solving approach. Physical Requirements Tasks involving kneeling, squatting, standing, sitting, bending, and twisting for extended periods. Capacity to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
