About the role

Join a growing food production team in the Dundalk area and keep high-throughput lines running safely and smoothly. As our Reliability Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll blend hands-on troubleshooting with preventive and predictive routines to install, repair, and optimize processing and facility equipment.

You start your shift by reviewing the computerized work order/CMMS queue and walking the floor. Following OSHA-compliant lockout/tagout, you bring a packaging line online, listening for abnormal vibration. Mid-shift, you respond to an unscheduled call, diagnose a motor control issue, replace the failed component, verify operation, and document the fix. Later, you calibrate instrumentation, complete PMs on pumps and valves, and tidy your workspace—leaving tools organized and equipment ready for the next run. You finish the day by updating maintenance records and lending a hand to the Instrumentation Electrician on a controls check.

• Install, start up, shut down, and maintain production machinery using company safety procedures aligned with OSHA requirements.
• Tackle emergency breakdowns during production and conduct scheduled maintenance during service intervals.
• Read and apply equipment manuals and work orders to plan and execute service tasks.
• Diagnose faults, repair or replace parts, test performance, and make needed adjustments.
• Perform basic machining, plus general plumbing and carpentry as needed.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records for assigned assets.
• Uphold housekeeping and sanitation standards; keep tools orderly and in safe working order.
• Actively participate in GMP/Sanitation, HACCP, ISO, and Safety programs.
• Provide backup support to Instrumentation Electrician and Pipefitter/Welder.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience; background in a fast-paced, food manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems; experience calibrating instrumentation is a plus.
• Certification to operate steam boilers is preferred.

• Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, low/high pressure blowers, and refrigeration compressors.
• Proficiency performing PMs and repairs on pumps, valves, packaging equipment, clarifiers/separators, agitators, and motors.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills using specialized test instruments.
• Clear communication with operators, vendors, and teammates; able to explain issues and solutions effectively.
• Comfort with Microsoft Word/Excel and a computerized work order system.

• Production setting with the characteristic aroma of yeast manufacturing.
• Hearing protection required within the plant.
• Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing; occasional walking and standing.
• Regular hand/finger use to handle tools and controls; constant reaching.
• Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs.
• Visual requirements include near and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
