Licensed Veterinary Technician

Overview The Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of clients and patients. The LVT works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater efficiency in daily practice and helps facilitate and streamline communication from the treatment area to the Client Experience Concierge and the client. Responsibilities Build strong relationships with the Arista specialty & emergency teams Assist the Veterinarian in medical, sedated, and surgical procedures Implement proper triage protocols based on client and facility needs in a fast-paced environment Coordinate operational duties that support the Veterinarian, Client Experience Concierge, and Hospital Logistics Specialist Administer appropriate dosages for fluids, oral medications, and injections as directed by the Veterinarian and per Arista policies Accurately enter patient notes and Veterinarian directives into the medical chart Collect and manage specimens for laboratory testing (in-house and outside labs) and record results in patient charts Perform and assist with radiographs and EKGs Monitor patient health physically and behaviorally; identify issues promptly and report to the Veterinarian or supervisor Admit and discharge patients following the plan of care; educate clients verbally and in writing about illness, medications, and what to expect post-discharge Prepare and present treatment estimates and invoice clients after the plan of care is agreed upon Refill prescriptions as approved and store them securely until pickup Maintain appropriate inventory of medical supplies in all exam and treatment areas Support the Veterinarian and maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with team members Keep facilities and treatment areas sanitized and cleaned per Arista policies Complete all tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Current Veterinary Technician License issued by the state of Georgia (LVT) 3+ years of experience in veterinary healthcare (technician, nurse, or clinical) Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to follow directives and plans of care established by the Veterinarian Confidence and decisiveness in practice Critical thinking and active listening abilities Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful or emergency situations Professional demeanor, good judgment, and self-motivation Ability to work with minimal supervision and initiative Physical stamina to stand for extended periods Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Availability to work weekends and holidays Ability to demonstrate and uphold Arista's core values Requirements High school diploma or GED Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height Understanding of proper and safe animal restraint Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire Commitment to customer service, high-quality care, and excellence Current Georgia LVT license Compensation Competitive pay Benefits available for team members who work an average of 30 hours per week or more Career Development Opportunities for career advancement include, but are not limited to: Hospital Logistics Expert Veterinary Technician Specialist Assistant Practice Manager #J-18808-Ljbffr Arista Advanced Pet Care
