Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role Purpose Corning Optical Communications (COC) is seeking a Federal Account Manager to lead strategic sales growth within key federal government accounts across the United States. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high-priority accounts, executing coordinated sales plans to expand Corning's presence in fiber-optic infrastructure and enterprise networking solutions. This is a remote, home-based position in the Central US region with up to 50% travel. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic federal accounts, meeting or exceeding sales targets for telecommunications and optical networking products Build and maintain senior-level relationships at key federal agencies, driving preference for Corning Optical Communications solutions through a structured account and contact management strategy Develop and execute annual federal account plans, identifying new business opportunities and coordinating with channel and federal reseller partners to grow market share Serve as a subject matter expert to Sales Engineers, federal customers, and channel partners; provide regular market intelligence on pricing, technology trends, and competitive landscape to internal marketing and product teams Maintain accurate opportunity forecasts and weekly activity reporting in Salesforce.com Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in telecommunications 5 + years experience selling to or through the federal government, directly or indirectly Knowledge of fiber-optic infrastructure and enterprise network solutions Proficiency in Salesforce.com Ability to travel up to 50% Based in the Central US region (home office) Desired Qualifications MBA or equivalent advanced degree Experience engaging with or leading channel and federal reseller partner teams Familiarity with federal procurement vehicles and the broader federal IT and mission systems ecosystem International sales experience (Americas, EMEA, or Asia-Pacific) Active security clearance or ability to obtain clearance This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $96,148.00 - $132,204.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. ​ A job that shapes a life.
