POSITION SUMMARY:

We're looking for a Medical Assistant with hands-on wound care experience to join our clinic team. You'll support providers and patients through the full wound care visit, from check-in to treatment, and help keep the clinic running smoothly.


This is a patient-facing role requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and room patients for exams, document medical histories, and record vital signs.
• Assist providers during examinations, wound care procedures, and hyperbaric treatments.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked exam and treatment rooms.
• Perform EHR documentation, patient check-ins, and appointment follow-ups.
• Coordinate scheduling of patient treatments and communicate next steps clearly.
• Manage medical supplies and ensure equipment is clean and functional.
• Provide patient education and reinforce care instructions as directed by the provider.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and uphold safety and infection control protocols.
• Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, front desk staff, and billing/coding teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant diploma or certification strongly preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) designation preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, ideally in wound care or specialty medicine.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) - Athenahealth experience a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift, move, and assist patients as needed in a clinical setting.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $20.00
