Description Mission Statement The mission of Packgene Biotech is to accelerate gene therapy product development by providing an integrated one-stop solution including plasmid, viral vector, fill-finish and QC analytical services for the gene therapy industry. Company Background Packgene Biotech was founded in 2014 and headquartered in Guangzhou China. We provide CRO/CDMO services to the emerging gene therapy industry and research institutes. Packgene Biotech (US) is a full subsidiary of the parent company and is expanding its global footprint to Houston TX. Overview The Logistics Specialist contributes and supports the operations of the logistics department by managing the shipping and receiving operations for the company. Works on difficult assignments requiring judgment and initiative. Understands implications of delivery delays to project schedules and makes recommendations for solutions. General Responsibilities: Perform Logistics tasks including shipping, receiving, material management, and warehouse operations. Utilize an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for materials management and movement. Handle packaging and documentation for items being shipped. Maintain sufficient levels of shipping/packaging supplies to ensure shipments meet delivery requirements. Receive materials and move materials between quarantined, released, and manufacturing areas. Perform inventory checks. Maintain and improve warehouse area organization. Assist with improvements in area and process. Collaborate closely with other team members such in QC, QA, PAD, MFG, and external/internal stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain high level of accountability, integrity, teamwork, and communication. Build strong & cohesive working relationships with colleagues across the company to accomplish company goals. Requirements Skills and Qualifications H.S. required, A.S. preferred. With H.S.: 0-2 years of combined experience in biologics manufacturing and Logistics/Warehouse operations. Valid driver’s license Ability to read and speak in English and Chinese required. Prior experience working in a GMP warehouse preferred. Experience with biotech manufacturing is a plus. Experienced with MS Office suite of products. Excited to learn new things and open to new ideas. Passion for helping others. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism. Ability to analyze, identify and solve problems proactively. Working Conditions: Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound. Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Lifting: Raising objects of 50 lbs from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Sitting: Sitting for a period of time. Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
