Open Rank Full-Time Clinical Faculty – Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (ILD) Position Overview A full‑time (1.0 FTE) faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, anticipated start date January 2027. The specific rank will reflect experience and qualifications per UW’s Faculty Code Section 24‑34. Position Description The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Washington seeks an individual to provide primary outpatient care for patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD), with additional inpatient care opportunities based on interests and division needs. Clinical duties include diagnosis, complex medical decision‑making, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Care will be delivered at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), Montlake and Northwest campuses, and Harborview Medical Center (HMC). Teaching responsibilities encompass bedside clinical instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows. Faculty on the Full‑Time Clinical Faculty (FTCF) track hold annual appointments covering a 12‑month service period (July 1–June 30) and may be reappointed annually. Payment is for 11 months of service within the 12‑month period, reserving one month for paid time off. Base salary ranges by rank are as follows: Clinical Assistant Professor ($22,000–$24,250 per month), Clinical Associate Professor ($24,250–$29,250 per month), Clinical Professor ($29,250–$33,500 per month). These ranges include salary through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan and university base salary, reflecting U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations. Other compensation may include a clinical coverage overload (CCO), temporary pay supplement (TPS), or semi‑annual additional compensation (SAAC), such as $500 per night shift for duties as a member of the nighttime attending (nocturnist) team. The Division is a multidisciplinary community of over 200 faculty, fellows, researchers, advanced practice providers, and staff across five major clinical sites, and hosts several research centers including the Center for Lung Biology and the Center for Interstitial Lung Disease. The mission emphasizes clinical excellence, research, and education, with a strong focus on mentorship and training physician‑scientists through a NIH T32 program. All UW faculty are expected to contribute to teaching, research, and service.
