About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Sponsor Finance Credit Risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading credit assessments of new leveraged finance transactions, including LBOs, add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations, and refinancings. This role involves in-depth analysis of borrower financial performance, business models, sponsor strength, and market positioning, as well as the development and review of financial models and scenarios. The VP will also oversee portfolio risk management, ensuring ongoing credit monitoring, identifying early warning indicators, and partnering with various teams on risk mitigation strategies. Applicants must have 7-12+ years of credit risk, underwriting, or leveraged finance experience, with a strong understanding of sponsor-backed transactions and capital structures. Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills are essential, as is the ability to make independent credit decisions in a fast-paced environment. The role requires excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for senior audiences, and a Bachelor's degree is mandatory, with an MBA, CFA, or other relevant credentials being preferred. The VP will also be involved in governance and policy, ensuring alignment with credit policies and contributing to the evolution of credit frameworks and process enhancements. Cross-functional collaboration is a key aspect of the position, including working with various teams throughout the deal lifecycle and providing guidance to junior staff.
