Business Analyst / Modeler

Our client has been a leading investment manager for over 40 years. Headquartered in New York, the firm maintains strategically located offices across the United States and Europe and offers a broad range of real estate strategies across the risk/return spectrum to approximately 500 institutional investors across the globe. We are seeking a Business Solutions Analyst to partner closely with Portfolio Management, Portfolio Finance, Corporate Finance and Technology teams to design, develop, and enhance the company's enterprise portfolio modeling and forecasting platform.
Key conditions:

• Candidates must currently reside in the New York City metropolitan area
• Candidates must be currently in the investment industry or in an investment oriented FinTech
• This fulltime position is on a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days a week on-site in New York City.
• Compensation is in the $110K-$120K salary range plus bonus.
• We are unable to provide sponsorship or transfer a visa for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance models and own the development and continuous enhancement of modeling capabilities
• Partner directly with investment professionals, portfolio managers, and finance leadership
• Develop portfolio and fund-level scenario analysis tools
• Define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver solutions
• Connect with upstream and downstream business systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 25 years of professional experience in business analysis with ownership of a finance related modeling, forecasting, or planning platform.
• Must have experience in Anaplan, Excel or other planning platform
• Must have evolved a financial model over time, partnered closely with business users, and improved decision-making and business outcomes.
• Strong proficiency with SQL or Power BI is helpful.

The role is centered around the firm's Anaplan environment, which serves as the primary platform for portfolio forecasting, portfolio modeling, portfolio construction, scenario analysis, and investment decision support. These models are used throughout the organization to evaluate acquisitions, dispositions, financing strategies, portfolio composition, and fund-level financial performance across multiple real estate investment vehicles. Work directly with investment professionals, portfolio managers, finance teams, and business leaders to continue expanding the firm's portfolio modeling capabilities and analytical infrastructure. These models play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, forecasting fund performance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.
