Superintendent Assistant

Position Summary

TCI Contractors is seeking a motivated and dependable Superintendent Assistant to support the Superintendent with daily commercial construction operations, working closely with project teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and schedules.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, has carpentry skills, and comfortable working in an active construction environment. This position provides an opportunity to develop valuable field experience and grow within the construction industry. Preferably living North of I55

Key Responsibilities

Field & Project Support

• Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel.
• Help monitor project schedules and communicate any delays or issues to the Superintendent.
• Participate in daily jobsite walks to help monitor progress, quality, productivity, and site conditions.
• Assist with reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Help identify and communicate field issues to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Assist with maintaining project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and other field records.
• Help coordinate deliveries, materials, and equipment as needed.
• Attend project meetings and assist the Superintendent with providing project updates.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and productive jobsite.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Project Manager.

Safety Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent in maintaining a safe jobsite.
• Follow and help enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with daily safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Help conduct routine jobsite safety inspections.
• Report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, and near misses to the Superintendent.
• Help ensure subcontractors and onsite personnel follow OSHA and project-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with maintaining safety documentation and records.
• Promote a positive culture of safety and accountability on the jobsite.

Qualifications

• 3 years of construction experience preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant construction experience or education may be considered.
• Carpentry skills and background
• Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and jobsite operations.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work effectively with the Superintendent, subcontractors, and project team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and stand on active construction sites for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate uneven construction surfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments.
