T3 Program Specialist (Digital Cinema Production) We are seeking a dynamic and multi‑talented Program Specialist to join the T3 program. This full‑time role combines the creative vision of a documentary filmmaker with the compassion of an educational mentor. The specialist will document the journeys of T3 student participants while providing direct mentorship, informal workforce training, and essential program support. Responsibilities Documentary Production – develop, produce, and direct a documentary that follows the educational and personal journeys of T3 student participants. Student Mentorship – act as an in‑program mentor, providing guidance and support throughout the participants’ time in the program. Collaborative Liaison – serve as the point of contact between the DCP department, program participants, peer mentors, and the T3 Director. Marketing Support – assist in creating media‑focused marketing materials to build program awareness and inform prospective students. Mentor Support – assist and support peer mentors assigned to program participants, maintaining an active presence during course projects. Workforce Training and Operations – facilitate workforce training for students through hands‑on activities such as program recruiting events, facility tours, and equipment room operations. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree (or higher) in Digital Cinema Production, Creative Media, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related field. Professional experience in filmmaking, with a strong emphasis on producing and directing documentary films, and a record of contributing to at least five feature‑length film projects. Familiarity with or eagerness to learn about accessibility and inclusive practices within educational and creative environments. Comprehensive knowledge of documentary filmmaking workflows and efficient production processes. Working knowledge of production legalities, including securing media releases, location permits, and copyright compliance. Deep understanding of narrative structure and documentary storytelling principles. Technical skills in cinematography, including advanced camera operation and lighting design; audio production; and cinematic editing using industry‑standard post‑production software. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to students with varying levels of experience and abilities; manage time effectively; and collaborate seamlessly with DCP department, T3 leadership, and student mentors. Preferred Qualifications Professional or personal experience supporting, mentoring, or teaching individuals with disabilities, or a strong willingness to participate in professional development to learn best practices for inclusive support. Required Training Quarterly compliance training as assigned by the institution. Work Hours Typical 40‑hour work week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedules may be adjusted based on program, event, or operational requirements, including occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Physical Demands / Working Conditions Medium physical work requiring occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds, frequent exertion of up to 20 pounds, and constant exertion of up to 10 pounds. Frequent movement across OCCC campuses, operating equipment, and performing repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers. Occasional ascent/descend of stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, or poles to perform essential functions. Regular standing, walking, and use of computer and mobile devices for job functions. Ability to perceive attributes of objects by touch, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture.
