Truck Driver CDL A OTR Solo

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Ashland, VA, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Pay & Incentives $1700 or more per week. Other incentives include: Driver Positions Pay Weekly Home at least every other weekend. Must be able and willing to drive into Canada. Solo Miles Pay: $0.59 per mile with 2000-2500 miles per week. Van Stops Pay: $16.37 per stop plus $107.56 per dry‑van unload. Average 8-10 stops per week. Rolling stop pay $28.20. Safety Bonus: $250 four times a year, every quarter. Loyalty Bonus: $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year. Paid training. Vehicle & Freight Details Tractor type: sleepers with APUs. Trailer type: dry van and Conestoga (experience preferred). Companion policy: bring a person or pet on the road. Load securement: strapping. Freight: touch‑hand unloading required. Freight types: commercial and residential garage doors. Endorsements: passport within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines. Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs. Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer. Deliver solo routes from North Dakota to Texas and all states east, as well as Canada. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 21 years of age. Pass a Ryder drug test. Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years. Pass a DOT physical. Pass a Ryder road test. Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position. Must have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years experience within the last 10 years. Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions. Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
